Pay It Forward

喜捨 Kisha
Pay It Forward, Abandon your attachments with joy.

At Texas Honganji, we are expanding our community of people who practice Buddhist principles to cultivate greater self-awareness, compassion, and mutual benefit.

Our minds naturally become attached to the things we value. Kisha (Pay It Forward) is the practice of willingly letting go of something meaningful for the benefit of someone else.

More than an act of generosity, Kisha is a practical exercise in loosening attachment, reducing self-centeredness, and developing compassion.

It does not need to involve money or material possessions. It may involve your time, attention, knowledge, skills, opportunities, or any other gift that can benefit another person.

The essence of Kisha is simple: give without expecting anything in return as part of your practice.

We invite you to practice Kisha (Pay It Forward).
